When you phone 1-800-245-6889 or send us e-mail about your needs, your first contact with the Ryan   Staff will be a secretary who will ask when it will be convenient for an ESTIMATOR to pay you a visit -- for FREE, of course, and without obligation.

His or her job is to make sure that we KNOW precisely what you need done. We'll tell you your Estimator's name. They'll arrive within an hour of the time you request, or phone from the road if an unavoidable emergency arises.

On-site, they'll explain how a move works, about packing materials and services, equipment, insurance, scheduling, etc. They'll make sure that you have a detailed, workable PLAN to guide your move (or help you develop one, if necessary). They'll see to it that the move costs you as little as possible, without sacrificing the peace of mind that you also value.

Finally, they'll survey your belongings in detail, asking questions, taking notes, and come up with an estimate of their cubic footage and weight.

Our Estimator uses SalesMate ,a totally portable, battery operated, surveying system. It electronically records the survey, calculates the volume and item count by transportation mode, and prints a report right in the your home.

No Ryan Estimator will ever engage in "low-balling" or any of the other shady practices consumers rightly fear. He or she will give you an iron-clad binding quotation.

If our Estimator gets the estimate wrong, we eat the loss, not you! Every now and then our State Registered Weigh Master weighs a guaranteed shipment just to check our estimators' accuracy in estimating. They're routinely found between 5% and 10%; one customer once wrote to declare his amazement at an 0.8% accuracy on a 14,320-pound move!
